Expert says more phishing emails during holiday season

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- "This is the time of year where you're gonna see a huge increase in any of the phishing emails."

As the Christmas carols fill the air and the Black Friday commercials air on your TV, cyber crimes expert Carrie Kerskie said that's the time of year when crooks target your computers.

"They're gonna try to solicit you to click on their links with deep, deep discounts," said Kerskie.

Kerskie said their emails will look like the real deal.

"They're more sophisticated where they're really, really, really good at copying their trademark items. The logos, the field, the colors scheme, so it's very hard to when you're just looking at it with the naked eye to determine if it's fact or fiction."

"You just don't open it you delete it and move on, if you know what to look for, you notice it."

We showed shoppers in North Naples two emails received this weekend from what looks like FedEx.
