Gmail app for iOS now gets anti-phishing security checks - Gizbot


It is frightening sometimes when you hear about cyber criminals stealing confidential data and even personal information that could possibly lead to many bad things. While we have already seen and heard about such events the recent one being the WannaCry fiasco, many companies are trying to come up with a strong solution to counter these bad elements.

If you are a Gmail user then things might have just got extra secure. Well, Gmail for iOS has just got a new functionality added to its platform. The e-mail app will now alert users whenever a suspicious link appears in the inbox.

"Going forward, when you click on a suspicious link in a Gmail message on your iPhone or iPad, we'll show the warning below. We recommend that you use caution before proceeding because the link is likely unsafe. Only proceed if you're confident there's no risk," the company said in its blog post.
