Smartphones that Don’t Fear Water


Vacations and road trips can be a great way to relax from your hectic schedule and—with the advent of social media—no matter where you go your smartphones goes with you. But we are not always headed to places which are dry as a bone. Sometimes you may head to a pool or a wet and damp place with lots of rain. And when that happens you know you cannot really enjoy yourself knowing your phone may or may not survive the water.

Manufacturers understand this and have slowly started incorporating ways to protect your phone against minor spills and even larger dunks into the water. Hence, manufacturers started rating their phones with IP (Ingress Protection) which rates each phone against intrusion by dust and water. In this, IP68 rated phones can be dunked underwater for up to 30 minutes and sand and other debris is prevented from entering inside the phone and damaging it.
